Defect Summary

Equipment description: gunite erie 2764-series brake drums supplied to holland binkley during 1999 and 2000 as part of complete axle assemblies. the brake drums are not compatible with steel disc wheels manufactured by hayes lemmerz international, inc. these drums bear date codes between "162 99" and "225 99," inclusive.

Safety Consequence

This incompatibility can result in brake drum failure and an immediate loss of braking control and other risks of death or injury.

Corrective Action

Gunite will conduct the notification, inspection/repair/replacement program at no charge to the consumer. consumers can reach gunite customer service at 815-964-3301.
