Defect Summary

Equipment description: clear taillamp assemblies which were not manufactured with red stop lamp, taillamp, reflex reflectors, and side marker lamps as required under federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment." these rear lamp assembles were manufactured between january 1, 1998, and september 8, 2000.

Safety Consequence

Without the reflective material, the vehicle may not be clearly visible to other motorists which could result in a vehicle crash.

Corrective Action

Jkl will notiy dealers/owners to return the noncompliant lamps for a free replacement.
