Defect Summary

Vehicle description: medium duty trucks. the diesel engine fuel supply hose from the fuel filter to the top of the fuel injection pump is incorrectly routed.

Safety Consequence

This condition could allow the hose to come in contact with the engine block, causing the hose to wear out.

Corrective Action

Dealers will replace the existing diesel fuel hose with a redesigned fuel hose that has a different shape from the existing fuel hose. due to the design change and routing change of the redesigned fuel hose, the engine electrical harness connector bracket and the ficd valve bracket will require replacement with redesigned brackets. this will provide additional clearance between these brackets and the redesigned fuel hose.
