Defect Summary
Vehicle description: van conversions models built on ford 138" e-350 cutaway chassis with 5.4l and 6.8l gas engines with after market fast idle controls installed. these fast idle controls were improperly installed, causing throttle control malfunction.
Corrective Action
Dealers will install a new bracket, vacuum solenoid, and hardware to a new location that does not have the potential to interfere with the function of the oem throttle assembly. owner notification began march 1, 2001. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact turtle top at 1-219-831-4340.
