Defect Summary
Vehicle description: heavy duty trucks converted from sleeper cabs to day cabs fail to comply with the requirements of fmvss no. 210, "seat belt assembly anchorages."
Safety Consequence
The seat occupant may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash.
Corrective Action
Dealers will install reinforcements to the seat belt anchorages. owner notification began december 31, 2001. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact freightliner at 1-800-547-0712.
