Defect Summary

Vehicle description: school buses utilizing 39" school bus barriers. these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 222, "school bus passenger seating and crash protection."

Safety Consequence

These vehicles do not meet the requirements of this standard.

Corrective Action

Owners will be provided with a modification kit with instructions. a supplemental bracket will be added at the barrier aisle floor mount. owner notification began september 10, 2003. owners who do not receive a free modification kit should contact us bus at 1-845-357-2510.
