Defect Summary
Vehicle description: certain fifth wheel recreational trailers fail to comply with the requirements of fmvss no. 108 "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment." the tail lights are not mounted perpendicular to the vehicle centerline, as required by the standard.
Corrective Action
Dealers will install a molded modular piece between the body of the vehicle and the tail light assembly to bring the lens perpendicular to the vehicle centerline. owner notification is expected to begin october 12, 2001. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact nu wa at 1-800-835-0676.
