Fleetwood/fmvss 108/reflectors
Defect Summary
Vehicle description: certain class a motor homes fail to comply with the requirements of fmvss no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment." the motor homes were not equipped with red reflex reflectors on the rear and red reflex reflectors/side marker lamps on the side as far to the rear as practicable.
Safety Consequence
At night, without this reflector installed, the approaching driver may not be aware that the vehicle is ahead, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Dealers will install the reflectors to the rear and side of the motor home. owner notification began november 16, 2001. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact fleetwood at 1-800-322-8216.
