Defect Summary

Holland hitch coupler assemblies used for towing trailers to move industrial materials on highways and non-highway applications. these couplers were manufactured between july 18, 2001, and june 18, 2002, part nos. Cp-400-h and cp-400-ca. the nut and bolt combination used on the coupler assembly were not compatible and may become loose, possibly allowing the tow trailer to detach from the tow vehicle.

Safety Consequence

If the tow trailer becomes detached, a crash is possible and may result in personal injury or death.

Corrective Action

Holland will notify its customers and provide replacement parts free of charge. owner notification began july 29, 2002. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact holland usa, inc. At 616-396-6501.
