Defect Summary

Certain trailers fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 121, "air brake systems." these trailers were built with inadequately sized air brake reservoirs.

Safety Consequence

This does not meet the standard.

Corrective Action

Dealers will install an additional air reservoir cylinder and associated hardware. owner notification is expected to begin during september or october 2002. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact east manufacturing at 1-330-325-9921.
