Cardone/power brake boosters
Defect Summary
Aftermarket power brake boosters, p/n 54-74421. due to a tooling setup problem, crimps on the outer shell of the boosters were positioned incorrectly. as a result, these units could fail during operation.
Safety Consequence
If a unit fails, braking performance will be lost, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.
Corrective Action
All of the affected units have been returned to the manufacturer and will be corrected. therefore, it will not be necessary to send notification to owners.
