Defect Summary

Aftermarket masterlock interchangeable hitch balls, p/nos. 2806 dat, 2807 dat, and 2867 dat.

Safety Consequence

If the consumer uses the ball without the clip, the ball could become dislodged from the hitch during use, resulting in the towing vehicle's hitch disengaging from the trailer, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.

Corrective Action

Master lock will notify its customers and replace the hitch ball free of charge. the recall began august 17, 2004. owners who do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact masterlock at 414-766-6224.
