Defect Summary
Cooper zeon 2xs and mastercraft avenger zhp, size 265/35r18 manufactured between december 21, 2003, and january 10, 2004. these tires are prone to tread chunking which may lead to tread separation.
Safety Consequence
. tread separation could lead to a loss of control of the vehicle which may result in a vehicle crash without prior warning.
Corrective Action
Cooper will notify its customers and replace the affected tires free of charge. owner notification began march 9, 2004. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact cooper's customer relations at 800-854-6288.
