Defect Summary
On certain motorhomes, exposure to heat in the engine compartment could decrease the life of the cable constraint components. this could allow the electrical cables to come in contact with, or be damaged by, exhaust components.
Safety Consequence
This could cause deterioration of cable insulation or shorting of electrical cables resulting in a fire.
Corrective Action
Dealers will install metal cable ties and heat shields. owner notification began april 1, 2004. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact jayco at 1-574-825-0608.
