Defect Summary
On certain trucks distributed by dodge or freightliner and equipped with a tire valve, tr600, on 16" tires, the valve can develop cracks within the rubber part or between the metal part and the rubber part of the valve stem.
Safety Consequence
Such cracking may lead to a loss of air pressure at the valve stem, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Dealers will replace the tire valves on all sprinter vehicles. the recall began on april 4, 2005. owners should contact daimlerchrysler at 1-800-853-1403.
