Defect Summary

Certain evenflo tribute and tribute 5 rear-facing infant child restraints with model nos beginning with 378 or 379, manufactured between september 8 and september 22, 2005. the plastic material in a specific area on each side wall was incompletely bonded during the molding of the seat shell which fails to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 213, child restraint systems.

Safety Consequence

In the event of a vehicle crash, the seat shell can crack, possibly resulting in injury to the child.

Corrective Action

Evenflo will automatically send a replacement seat to all registered owners. the recall began october 7, 2005. owners may contact evenflo parentlink at 800-233-5921 or visit their website at www.tributecarseat.com.
