Defect Summary

Certain tuthill trailer suspensions, models 20/22 ar and rs3162, shipped from february 18, 2004, and september 22, 2005, and installed as original equipment on trailers. the beam/axle pivot connection joint may potentionally be misassembled which could lead to misalignment and excessive play causing the trailer to wander.

Safety Consequence

A vehicle crash can occur should the trailer wander.

Corrective Action

Tuthill is working with the vehicle manufacturers to notify the owners of the affected vehicles and provide free remedy. the recall began on october 11, 2005. owners may contact their vehicle manufacturer or tuthill customer service at 800-753-0025.
