Defect Summary

Certain umnitza replaceable lighting capsules branded as prolumen hid kits, p/nos h1, h3, h4, 9006, and 9007. the replacement kits fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment. they may cause a higher than allowed amount of glare to oncoming traffic.

Safety Consequence

Oncoming traffic may experience higher than normal amount of glare which could affect driver's vision, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.

Corrective Action

Customers who purchased the noncompliant kits will be notified and a full refund will be provided. the recall is expected to begin on february 27, 2006. owners may contact umnitza at 925-922-5777.
