Defect Summary

On certain trailers equipped with accuride aluminum wheels, the wheels may not have been properly pre-stressed and may experience premature cracking on the disc face that could result in failure.

Safety Consequence

Should the wheel fail while the vehicle is in use, a vehicle crash could occur, possibly resulting in injury or death.

Corrective Action

Accuride is conducting the owner notification and remedy for this campaign and replace the wheels free of charge. the recall began on april 25, 2007. owners may contact accuride at 1-800-869-2275 or polar at 1-800-826-6589.
