Defect Summary

On certain trucks, an air system hose was installed rather than the required high-pressure power steering hose between the main and slave steering gear.

Safety Consequence

The air hose pressure rating is well below that of the power steering hose and may rupture, causing a loss of power assist, which could result in a crash.

Corrective Action

Dealers will install the correct power steering hose. the recall began on april 28, 2006. owners may contact mack at 1-800-528-6586.
