A/t selector lever/allison
Defect Summary
On certain trucks, the automatic transmission (a/t) selector lever may have been improperly machined allowing excessive play in the lever, causing improper engagement of the "p" range (park).
Safety Consequence
The transmission could remain in the "r" range (reverse) after shifting the vehicle into park allowing the vehicle to roll, causing a crash without warning.
Corrective Action
Dealers will replace the a/t control lever assembly, a/t shift control cable and proper parking procedures label free of charge. the recall began on august 16, 2006. owners may contact mitsubishi fuso at 856-467-4500.
