Defect Summary
Certain aftermarket coast distribution system trailer hitch kits, p/nos. 07020, 07021, 07022, 07023, 07034, 07036, 07658, 07659, 07660, 07668, and 07670, produced from march 1, 2006, to march 31, 2007, and which bear the factory designation "ctc". due to a bad weld, the weight distribution shank can fail and cause the trailer being towed to become unhitched or unstable.

Corrective Action
Coast distribution will notify its owners and will provide replacement shanks free of charge. the recall began on july 13, 2007. owners can contact coast at 877-544-4449.
