Defect Summary
On certain vehicles equipped with the advanced passenger seat air bag weight sensor system. A malfunction can occur in the supplemental restraint system (srs) electronic control unit (ecu) software when the battery is not fully charged.
Safety Consequence
In the event of a crash, the passenger side air bag and passenger seatbelt pre-tensioner may not deploy increasing the risk of injuries.
Corrective Action
Dealers will replace the srs ecu units as necessary free of charge. all vehicles have been corrected.
