Defect Summary
Jlevi streetwerks is recalling 60 high intensity discharge (hid) kits, models prolumen galaxy and piccolo compact, sold as aftermarket equipment for use on motor vehicles. these kits fail to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.
Safety Consequence
The purpose of this standard is to reduce deaths and injuries from motor vehicle crashes by providing adequate illumination of the roadway.
Corrective Action
Jlevi streetwerks will notify owners and offer a full refund to all recipients of the noncompliant hid kits. the recall began on february 29, 2008. owners may contact jlevi streetwerks at 1-888-553-8479.
