Defect Summary

International is recalling my 2007 ce school buses manufactured between february 8 and june 27, 2006, equipped with maxon wheelchair lifts. the wheelchair outer retention device located at the end of the wheelchair platform fails to conform to federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 404, "platform lift installations in motor vehicles."

Safety Consequence

Injury could occur to the lift user.

Corrective Action

All the owners have been notified and arrangements have been made to repair the affected buses by may 23, 2008.
