Defect Summary

Dutchmen is recalling certain model year 2012 infinity travel trailers manufactured from february 4, 2011, through june 30, 2011, because the 12 volt main wiring in the front bulkhead compartment is incorrectly routed. on the electrical bus bar mounted to the bulkhead in the compartment, only the main power feed from the disconnect switch should be connected to the lower section of the bus bar. however, the power feed line to the solenoid for the hydraulic pump system is also wired to the lower portion of the bus bar. this circuit is not protected by an auto reset breaker.

Safety Consequence

In the event of a short or ground, the unprotected circuit could result in a fire.

Corrective Action

Dealers will install an additional auto reset breaker to the bus bar and connect the power feed for the hydraulic pump system to the added breaker, which will give it the required over current protection. this service will be performed free of charge. the safety recall began on july 26, 2011. owners may contact dutchmen at 1-574-537-0700.
