Axle equalizer failure
Defect Summary
Pj trailers is recalling certain model year 2011 flatbed trailers equipped with a 15 3/4" or a 21 3/4" equalizer for 10k/12k spring axles. the welds on the top of the equalizer that hold the bushing through which the equalizer bolts to the trailer were not properly welded and can fail causing the axle to detach from the trailer.
Safety Consequence
Axle detachment could result in a vehicle crash.
Corrective Action
Pj trailers will notify owners and repair the trailers free of charge. the safety recall began on november 7, 2011. owners may contact pj trailers at 1-903-669-0213.
