Defect Summary

Galaxy helmets and accessories (galaxy helmets) is recalling certain glx 501c extra large motorcycle helmets. these helmets fail to conform to the impact requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) no. 218, "motorcycle helmets."

Safety Consequence

The wearer of a noncompliant helmet can sustain serious injuries in the event of a crash.

Corrective Action

Galaxy helmets will notify owners and the helmets will be modified to bring them into compliance with fmvss no. 218 free of charge. the safety recall began on june 7, 2012. owners may contact galaxy helmets at 1-626-359-0900.
