Defect Summary
Tracker marine is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 trailstar nitro and tahoe boat trailers, manufactured from september 28, 2011, through may 13, 2012. variance of a bracket welded in the brake actuator shell prevents the full range of motion of the master cylinder shaft rod. this can cause the brakes to overheat at the wheels. excessive heat may lead to brake failure and/or possible wheel bearing failure.
Safety Consequence
If either occurs there is an increased risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Tracker marine will notify owners, and dealers will replace the brake actuators, free of charge. the recall began on august 16, 2012. owners may contact tracker marine at 1-417-873-4588.
