Defect Summary
Autocar industries, llc is recalling certain model year 2012 xpert vehicles manufactured october 17, 2011, through september 17, 2012; and with serial numbers in the range 213522 through 215336. the seat belt anchorages fail to sustain the 3000 pound forces for the specified length of time. therefore, these vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 210, "seat belt assembly anchorages."
Safety Consequence
In the event of a crash, an insufficient seat belt anchorage may prevent the seat belt from properly restraining the occupant. this increases the risk of injury to the seat occupant.
Corrective Action
Autocar will notify owners, and dealers will repair the seat belts, free of charge. the recall began on march 1, 2013. owners may contact autocar at 1-765-489-5499.
