Defect Summary

Prevost is recalling certain model year 2009-2010 h3-45 and model year 2009 h3-41, x3-45, xlii converted coach shells and xlii-45 entertainer converted coach and model year 2008 h3-vip coach shells. the mechanical springs used to return the accelerator pedal to idle after the driver lifts their foot off the pedal may break.

Safety Consequence

If the springs break, the pedal may not return to idle once the driver lifts their foot off the pedal. this unintended acceleration increases the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Prevost will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected accelerator pedals, free of charge. The recall began on december 17, 2013. owners may contact prevost at 1-418-883-2888. prevost's recall number is sr13-72.
