Defect Summary

Emcara gas development inc. (emcara) is recalling certain pressure relief devices (prd), model numbers lt102b and lt130, manufactured from july 23, 2014, to december 31, 2014. the affected prds may not function as designed and vent a buildup of pressure, such as could occur if the compressed natural gas (cng) tank was exposed to fire.

Safety Consequence

If the prd does not activate in the event of a buildup of pressure, the cng tank may explode, increasing the risk of fire and injury.

Corrective Action

Emcara will notify the purchasers of the affected prds, and the defective prds will be replaced, free of charge. the recall began on july 9, 2015. owners may contact emcara customer service at 1-519-821-5259.
