Defect Summary

Kalmar solutions, llc (kalmar) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 ottawa terminal tractors manufactured june 20, 2014, to november 14, 2014. due to improper routing, the battery ground cable may detach from its mounting on the transmission, and as a result, excessive current may travel through the vehicle's engine harness, melting it.

Safety Consequence

Melting of the engine harness may cause an electrical short and increase the risk of a fire.

Corrective Action

Kalmar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the battery cable and correct its routing to eliminate stress on its attachment point, free of charge. the recall began on march 26, 2015. owners may contact kalmar customer service at 1-785-229-6327.
