Defect Summary
Eldorado national-california, inc. (eldorado national) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 passport hd vehicles manufactured may 1, 2012, to june 30, 2014. in the affected vehicles, the power cable that connects the starter motor to the alternator may chafe on the auxiliary air conditioning compressor bracket.
Safety Consequence
If the wire chafes, the wire may short to ground, increasing the risk of a fire.
Corrective Action
Eldorado national has notified owners, and dealers will inspect & secure the wires to protect them from rubbing on the compressor bracket. any wire that is damaged will be replaced. these repairs will be performed free of charge. the recall began on may 15, 2015. owner's may contact eldorado national customer service at 1-909-591-9557.
