Defect Summary

Strick trailers, llc (strick) is recalling certain model year 2007, 2009, and 2015 dry freight van trailers, equipped with rear impact guard gussets 59653 and 59654. these rear impact guard gussets increase the chances of injury in the event of a crash. as such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) no. 223, "rear impact guards."

Safety Consequence

If the rear impact guards do not meet safety standards, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Corrective Action

Strick will notify owners, and dealers will install reinforcements, or replace the rear impact guards, free of charge. the recall began on february 1, 2016. owners may contact strick customer service at 1-704-436-2590.
