Defect Summary

Tong ho hsing industrial co. (thh) is recalling certain hawk ap-80 motorcycle helmets, part number t378, size m. the affected helmets may not adequately protect a user in the event of a head impact during a crash. as such, these helmets fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 218, "motorcycle helmets."

Safety Consequence

Helmets that do not adequately protect the wearer increase their risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Corrective Action

Thh will notify owners and provide a replacement helmet free of charge or they will offer a full refund. the recall is expected to begin during september 2016. owners may contact thh customer service at 1-978-483-8072.
