Defect Summary

Manac trailers usa, inc. (manac) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 darkwing aluminum flatbed 5 or 8 axle trailers manufactured may 19, 2014 to june 5, 2015. the affected trailers may have cracks in the structural web connected to the coupling plate of the trailer below the cross-member, which could ultimately result in separation of the coupling plate from the trailer.

Safety Consequence

If the coupling plate separates from the trailer, the trailer could disconnect from the towing vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Manac has notified owners, and dealers will install a new coupling plate and repair all cracked frame webs, free of charge. the recall began on june 8, 2016. owners may contact manac customer service at 1-800-361-7900.
