Defect Summary

Navistar, inc. (navistar) is recalling certain model year 2014-2017 international prostar trucks manufactured june 11, 2013, through may 19, 2016. in the affected vehicles, the connection for the cube fuse terminal may break resulting in a total loss of power to the cab and an unexpected engine stall.

Safety Consequence

An unexpected engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Navistar will notify owners, and dealers will replace the cube fuse with a chassis-mounted power distribution module (pdm), free of charge. an interim notice was sent to owners on september 14, 2016. the recall began on october 28, 2016. owners may contact navistar customer service at 1-800-448-7825. navistar's number for this recall is 16508.
