Defect Summary

Altec industries inc. (altec) is recalling certain 2009 altec lss 60 or lss 70 elevator aerial devices. the elevator riser assembly may crack and fail.

Safety Consequence

If the elevator riser fails, it can increase the risk of injury or death.

Corrective Action

Altec will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the elevator riser for cracks, repairing any that are found and install an update kit, free of charge. the recall began december 27, 2018. owners may contact altec customer service at 1-877-462-5832. altec's number for this recall is csn 702.
