Defect Summary
Forest river, inc (forest river) is recalling certain 2019 rockport vehicles. the federal placard may indicate an incorrect gross axle weight rating (gawr), which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded. as such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of 49 cfr part 567, "certification."
Safety Consequence
An overloaded vehicle may cause operator to lose control of vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Forest river has notified owners, and dealers will replace the federal placard with a new corrected placard, free of charge. the recall began january 18, 2018. owners may contact forest river customer service at 1-574-522-7599. forest river's number for this recall is 51-0919.
