Defect Summary

Kovatch mobile equipment corp. (kme) is recalling certain 2017 kme commercial rescue and 2019 kme commercial tanker vehicles equipped with an asa electronics backup camera display. The display may revert back to the factory default settings, which may cause the camera image to be reversed.

Safety Consequence

The driver may inadvertently turn the wrong direction to avoid an object behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Kme will notify owners, and dealers will install a harness/relay/capacitor module to prevent the image from reversing. the recall began may 17, 2019. owners may contact kme customer service at 1-800-235-3928.
