Defect Summary

Daimler trucks north america llc (dtna) is recalling certain 2020 western star 4700 vehicles. the steering shaft may have been improperly installed, potentially causing a loss of connection between the steering wheel and front axle wheels.

Safety Consequence

This loss of connection would result in a loss of steering control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Dtna will notify owners and dealers will inspect the vehicles, correcting the steering shaft installation, as necessary, free of charge. the recall began november 27, 2019. owners may contact dtna customer service at 1-800-547-0712. dtna's number for this recall is fl-835.
