Defect Summary

Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain replacement brake pedal brackets, part numbers fr53-2455-aa and fr53-2455-ab. the brake pedal bracket may fracture during sudden stopping.

Safety Consequence

A broken brake pedal could affect braking ability, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Ford will notify the dealers that sold the parts and those dealers will attempt to notify the owners that purchased them. dealers will replace the brake pedal bracket assembly, free of charge. the recall is expected to begin november 16, 2020. owners may contact ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. ford's number for this recall is 20s55.
