Defect Summary
Shyft group is recalling certain 2021 utilimaster velocity vehicles. the tire and loading information placard incorrectly states a seating capacity of one, although the actual seating capacity is two. as such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 110, "tire selection and rims."
Safety Consequence
Incorrect seating capacity information may cause the vehicle to be overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Dealers will install new placards, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed on june 17, 2021. owners may contact shyft group customer service at 1-800-582-3454. shyft group's number for this recall is 21-16.
