Ramp door cables may fail and retract forcefully
Defect Summary
Aluminum trailer company (atc) is recalling certain 2021 quest and raven trailers equipped with a spring-assist ramp door assembly. the fastener used to secure the spring-assist ramp door cables may be the incorrect type and over-tightened, which could cause the cable bushings to fail.
Safety Consequence
Cable bushing failure may cause the cables to retract forcefully, increasing the risk of injury.
Corrective Action
Atc will supply new materials and work instructions to replace the existing ramp door cable fastener assembly, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed january 14, 2022. owners may contact atc customer service at 1-877-441-2440, ext. 342.
