Defect Summary

Dexter axle company (dexter axle) is recalling certain smart-steer 2.0 self-steering axles. the steering arm may fracture during certain conditions, such as low speed and high side-loading.

Safety Consequence

The fractured steering arm and tie rod can separate and fall to the ground, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Dealers will install a new steering arm and additional welds, free of charge. dealers and original equipment manufacturers were notified of the recall in october 2022. owners may contact dexter axle's customer service at 1-574-295-7888.
