Defect Summary

Carefree of colorado (carefree) is recalling certain freestyle gearbox housing part number: 015933-002. the gearbox may develop cracks, causing the awning to extend unintentionally.

Safety Consequence

An awning extending unintentionally during transit may become a distraction or road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Carefree will provide additional support for the internal components of the gearbox housing, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed january 6, 2023. owners may contact carefree customer service at 1-800-621-2617.
