Defect Summary

Shyft group is recalling certain 2021-2023 spartan k2 rv chassis. the air brake supply reservoir is less than 12x the combined volume of air for all service brake chambers. as such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 121, "air brake systems."

Safety Consequence

The undersized air brake supply reservoir may provide an insufficient air supply to properly operate the brakes during repetitive braking, reducing braking performance and increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action

Shyft group will replace the air supply reservoir, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed november 23, 2022. owners may contact shyft group customer service at 1-800-582-3454. shyft group's number for this recall is 22-14.
