Defect Summary
Daimler trucks north america, llc (dtna) is recalling certain 2021-2022 mt50e electric walk-in vans that were previously repaired under recall number 22v-340. the transmission gear shifter indicator may not display accurately. as such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 102, "transmission shift lever sequence/starter interlock/transmission braking effect."
Safety Consequence
Driving a vehicle with an inaccurate transmission gear shifter indicator can result in an unintentional gear shift, which can increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Action
Dealers will inspect and replace the gear shifter, as necessary, free of charge. owner notification letters were mailed february 2, 2023. owners may contact dtna customer service at 1-800-547-0712. dtna's number for this recall is fl-961.
