Defect Summary

Meritor, inc. (meritor) is recalling certain front drive steer axles, models mx23810 and mx24810, with part numbers mx23810danc12-538, and mx24810danc3-614. the front-drive steer axle fasteners may not have been tightened sufficiently and could come loose, resulting in a complete separation of the axle assembly joints.

Safety Consequence

Steer axle assembly separation can result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Corrective Action
